Atlas Completes New Management Buyout
Static Trader’s official static caravan partner Atlas Leisure Homes, which employs 460 people and last reported annual revenues of £37.9m, has recently finally completed a management buyout (MBO). The leading designer and manufacturer of static caravan holiday homes was established in Hull over 30 years ago and has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service.
Atlas Leisure Homes over the last couple of years has seen a number of changes, including a £1m+ investment in a second local manufacturing site; an almost doubling of staff; a 60% increase in turnover; and now a management buyout. The MBO came about when one of the existing shareholders and Sales & Marketing Director, Philip Spark, decided to retire earlier this year. The remaining shareholders, Steven McGawn (Managing Director), and Colin Jeffery (Operations Director) have acquired the shares. Mr Spark had been with Atlas Leisure Homes for more than five years and was involved in the previous 2019 MBO.
Steven McGawn, said: “With the sales order book being incredibly strong and the creation of two further production lines at our new Sutton Fields site, Phil felt this was the right time for him to retire from the business. We are grateful for the part that Phil played in both expanding our product range and growing the customer base to the current exceptionally high levels. We wish him a long and well-deserved happy retirement.”
Northern Sales Director, Janette McClean, has been appointed Sales & Marketing Director designate and is working with the senior management team to continue to grow the business, supporting dealers and holiday parks with quality holiday homes and lodges. The business will continue to trade as Atlas Leisure Homes and is proud to remain a truly independent business within the leisure home industry.
